1. One thing that has affected my senior project in an enormously positive way is contacting actual professionals in the field. By contacting the professional i have been so interested in marine biology trying to get a profile of the who i am going to work with that seeing their work makes me want to research also.
2. The encyclopedia piece made me understand that to be a marine biologist you need to have a specific study because there is so many fields to be involved in.
3. So far talking to people and just being interested in general has helped me do my project the most.
4. The only thing that hasn't worked for this project is not checking the blog as much as I should be, it really hurts my progress in the project not knowing what is due.
5. a) I would like to learn mostly about what kind of skills and knowledge are required to be a marine biologist. I would also like to know how other marine biologists feel about their job and if it lived up to their expectations.
b) By the end of the year I want to know exactly what the job of a marine biologist is and how to accomplish it as effectively as an experienced scientists. Also I would like to establish connections within the community of marine scientists.
c) Hopefully the man I talk to next will be Dr. Patrick Krug, because his articles and discoveries on naturally occurring hybrid sharks is one of the most interesting I have come across thus far.
